Earlier this year, Mr Co de Heus chief executive of Royal de Heus Animal Nutrition, spoke extensively to Chinese President Xi Jinping during a two-day state visit to the Netherlands.
On this occasion, King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima were also present. The presentation took place in the ‘Koetshuis’ (coach house) of Keukenhof Castle, and was part of a larger presentation of the topsectors Agro&Food and Horticulture. The presentation of both leading sectors was focused mainly on emphasising the importance of a bilateral collaboration between China and the Netherlands.
The intense cooperation between De Heus Animal nutrition, Dutch animal feed control organisation “Trust Feed”, and Wellhope in China was extensively discussed and cooperation further tightened. The Wellhope integration in China has a strong cooperation with Royal De Heus already for many years.
Apart from their strong position in China, De Heus also keeps expanding in their other foothold in Asia: Vietnam. Here the construction of its 6th Animal Feed factory has started in Binh Dinh, located in Central Vietnam.
The company sees a large market potential in this area and with its new factory, it will accelerate the sales of its already existing volume in this growing region. De Heus considers Binh Dinh as the most promising farming area in central Vietnam, which is strategically located for transportation by sea and road.
Total investment for this project is US$10,000,000. It has a future capacity of 150,000 – 200,000 tonnes per year and it will produce feed for pigs, poultry and cattle.
