Australia: Chicken growers join NFF

The Australian Chicken Growers Council (ACGC) has joined the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) as an Associate Member.

NFF President Brent Finlay says ACGC‘s addition to the NFF family further enhances it strength as the united voice for farmers and, more broadly, agriculture across Australia.

“ACGC joins 30 NFF members at the decision-making table, ensuring the needs of Australian chicken growers are represented at the national level. We are delighted to welcome ACGC into the NFF Family,” Finlay said.

The ACGC represents contract chicken meat growers on a number of key industry issues at the national level. These include research and development; food safety; animal health and welfare; environmental management and sustainability.

The Australian chicken meat industry is a vitally important agricultural industry. An OECD-FAO report released this year states that chicken is set to become the world’s most consumed meat by 2020.
