Australian poultry farmers struggling against costs

Even though chicken has overtaken beef as the most popular meat in Australia, farmers in the country are struggling to stay in business.

This is the view of president of the Victorian Farmers Association, Michael Shaw, who was responding to the Australian Consumers Competition Commission report, which concluded that supermarkets were acting correctly in regard to prices paid to farmers.
Retailers in Australia are absorbing much of the increased production costs; however, farmers in Australia still claim that they are not doing enough to help producers.
