Bird flu-affected farmers compensated

Poultry farmers whose flu-affected poultry stocks were culled by the authorities have been compensated by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Khalid Pervez, who has distributed 35 compensation cheques of Rs 8.6 million €200,000).

The Chief Commissioner has assured the farmers that the government has taken a special interest in poultry farming. He termed Bird Flu a disaster, which was being controlled through constant monitoring by the district administration.
