Burned chicken factory restored in NZ

28-11-2007 | |

Tegel chicken factory in Hornby, Christchurch, New Zealand, has officially re-opened after a part of the factory was burnt to the ground 10 months ago.

In the first week of January, 2007, a fire broke out and destroyed a section of the poultry plant where approx. 140 memebers operated. The closure of the factory caused a disruption to the supply of fresh chicken to the region.
The section of the plant that was bured has now been restored. Agriculture Minister Jim Anderton recently attended to officially re-open it.
