China lifts ban on poultry from some US states

19-09-2008 | |

China has agreed to lift a ban on poultry exports from six US states.

This agreement was made at the end of the annual meeting of the US-China Joint Commission on Commerce.
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Quishan agreed to lift the poultry ban for Connecticut, New York, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Nebraska, effective immediately.
These states were originally banned from exporting to China after a low-pathogen bird flu was found in some of their birds.
