A total of 34 managers from 20 international customers attended the 10th Cobb-Vantress world technical school at the world headquarters in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, USA.
The 2-week school included specific, hands-on exercises designed to help implement a broad range of technical improvements in overall production and processing management. Team participation and group activities assisted in the relationship building that is a further benefit of the school.
Members of the Cobb world technical support team were the main instructors in topics involving breeder and broiler nutrition, health, environment, ventilation, processing and hatchery management. Two instructors, Chet Wiernusz and Scott Martin, were recognised for their 10 years of leadership in the school.
“Over these 10 years it is clear that the school offers the opportunity for participants to share a unique experience over the two-week period and become really familiar with Cobb, our people and a group from within the global industry,” said Dr Wiernusz, nutritionist with the world technical support team.
“It creates confidence to interact more and ask the key questions that will enable them to succeed in their jobs in the future. Each year the school has improved due to the excellent, open feedback which enables us to tailor it to meet their needs more.”
“It is good to share experiences with other students,” said Eduardo Pinto, broiler specialist from Cobb Brazil working with the world technical support team.
“Those from different environments and regions have first-hand knowledge of different growing conditions, and it’s a learning experience in other areas of the business such as grandparents, parents, and broilers. It’s also interesting to learn about diverse cultures and interests around the world.”
