Cobb introduces flock management app

Cobb’s new flock management app helps customers track production and manage flocks across farms, houses, and pens from their mobile devices. App users can access live reports, graphs, and dashboards to track production metrics, bird health records, and breeder data management tools, as well as additional resources, including broiler breeder guides, videos, and technical articles. The app is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, French, Turkish, Thai, Italian, German, Dutch, and Indonesian languages.

DSM launches sustainability platform ‘Reducing emissions from livestock’

Royal DSM’s sustainability platform, Reducing emissions from livestock, forms part of the We Make It Possible initiative. The platform is a commitment to reduce emissions from livestock in direct support of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13, Climate Action. To realise a reduction in carbon emissions, animal farming has to reduce the emissions it produces, cutting the levels of methane and nitrous oxide produced, both directly and indirectly, and reduce ammonia emissions.

Moba introduces the highest capacity egg processing loader

Moba has introduced the egg processing Crono9 loader. The new feature – the dual feeding arm – means capacity has increased to 225,000 eggs per hour. The Crono9 has a compact stainless-steel design for improved hygiene and robustness and better accessibility for quick and easy cleaning.

Baltic region on the way to cage-free egg production

Baltic egg producer Balticovo has announced its transition to cage-free egg production. This Latvian company, which is the first in the Baltic countries to publicly commit to this transition, currently owns the largest flock in the region with 3.3 million laying hens and pullets. The company plans to invest over €30 million in egg production process development and the reconstruction of existing and new barns and building of new barns by 2026. The company is also taking several other steps towards its long-term sustainability action plan, including the use of sustainably produced packaging, as well as producing biogas from poultry manure as a main source of energy.

IFF merger with DuPont’s Nutrition & Biosciences, and OMRI listing obtained for probiotic

DuPont’s Nutrition & Biosciences business now forms part of IFF. The combined company will continue to operate under the name ‘IFF’. The merger will give the company leadership positions within the taste, texture, scent, nutrition, enzymes, cultures, soy proteins and probiotics ingredient categories. DuPont shareholders own 55.4% of the combined company and IFF’s shareholders own 44.6%. The company has also announced that the US-based Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) has reviewed Enviva Provalen Plus, a 5-strain Bacillus probiotic feed additive for poultry litter management, and it is now included in the OMRI Products Lists.

Evonik introduces new products at EuroTier

Evonik‘s Animal Nutrition business line presented numerous innovations during the digital EuroTier 2021, including GuanAmino, a new guanidino acetic acid product that supports the energy metabolism of broilers and other livestock. AminoNIR Portable was also highlighted. This new mobile near-infrared spectroscopy service is the first in the world that can also analyse amino acids – independently of a laboratory, within minutes. In addition, the latest probiotic in the company’s range is Ecobiol Fizz, a tablet for rapid use via the drinking water system in poultry, and Porphyrio, a digital solution in poultry nutrition and farming.

NUQO appoints Barentz as strategic distribution partner

NUQO has appointed Barentz Animal Nutrition as the distribution partner for their range of feed additives in the Benelux and several surrounding countries. The NUQO product range consists of several products that combine encapsulated phyto- and phycogenic compounds and focus on an improvement in animal performance due to their positive effect on gut health and the immune system.
