Further appointment to Cobb research team

Dr Hilary Pavlidis has been appointed pedigree geneticist at Cobb’s Three Springs Farm in Oklahoma, USA.

The move is a return to the farm where Pavlidis became the company’s first research and development intern in 2000. She then obtained a BS in animal and poultry science at Virginia Tech in 2001, an MS in poultry breeding and genetics at the University of Arkansas in 2003 and PhD there in 2006.

Her work involved using DNA technology to investigate feed efficiency and ascites, and also developing broiler lines divergently selected for muscle colour.

For the past three years she has been working as a geneticist for Nicholas Turkeys in North America.
