Further investment for Aviagen in Europe

Poultry breeding company, Aviagen, is in the process of reaching an agreement to purchase the Grandparent (GP) production facilities of their French distributor Grelier France Accouveur (GFA), subject to a number of conditions which have yet to be satisfied.

The deal should see Aviagen acquire all the GP farms and one hatchery, all situated around the Angers area north-west France. All employees of GP Ross activity should be transferred to Aviagen.

Brian Whittle, Aviagen’s President, European Operations, commented: “Aviagen France SAS should be a welcome addition to our European production network. Our mini product, the Ross PM3, has proven track record of success in the market through the good work done by Grelier over many years. They have provided us with an excellent platform from which to further develop the relationships with our French customer base, which should, for the first time, be able to utilise the unrivalled support, technical service and genetics directly from Aviagen.”
