Good atmosphere on the first day of VIV Turkey

In Istanbul, Turkey, the VIV Turkey international tradeshow for poultry technologies started today. Visitors from Turkey and primarily the nearby Middle East region, gathered together in a good atmosphere to meet with suppliers in the field of poultry production.

Unlike other VIV shows, the Turkey edition is organized by HKF Trade Fairs Fairs under license of VIV organizers VNU Exhibitions from The Netherlands. The show therefore has a kind of its own flavor, with quite a number of exhibitors from Turkey. Yet there is also a strong international participation. Of the 360 exhibitors, 220 are from abroad or are representing international companies. 140 exhibitors originate from Turkey. The show has expanded with no less than 72 exhibitors compared to the previous edition in 2009.

With a wide range of products for both meat and egg production, all of them are serving the Turkish poultry market which is growing steadily. Particularly export is growing. According to show manager Bekir Cakici, total export value counted 85 million USD in 2008, which in 2009 almost doubled to 150 million USD. A major market is Iraq with a current export value of 92 million USD.

During the first show day, good attendance was registered. In 2009 VIV Turkey attracted 6,500 visitors. For this edition the organizers expect by around 12,000 visitors, of which 20-30% from outside Turkey. The show will end on Saturday.
