IEC London 2012 conference off to an excellent start

Over 450 of the egg industry’s leaders and decision makers from across the world are meeting this week in London, for the International Egg Commission’s Annual Marketing and Production Conference.

During the next four days, conference delegates will hear from a line-up of speakers, including Sir Terry Leahy, the world renowned former Chief Executive of Tesco, Dr Chris Brown from Walmart’s Asda, and Jorge Rueda, from Mexico’s Ministry of Agriculture. 

IEC Chair, Joanne Ivy, hosted a Welcome Reception on Sunday evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, to officially open the IEC London 2012 conference. 

During the conference, speakers and delegates will discuss the latest issues, trends and developments affecting the global egg industry, including:

  • Sustainable Consumption;
  • Environmental footprint of eggs;
  • The impact of Avian Influenza in Mexico;
  • The impact of the EU animal welfare directive;
  • Latest research into egg nutrition.
