US poultry processor Perdue Farms has announced that they will be laying off workers at its plant in Monterey.
Company VP Julie DeYoung said a total of 76 employees were told of their layoffs. This will take effect as of 11 July.
Affected workers are part of an operation that produces individually frozen foods.
Perdue said no layoffs are planned on the eight other production lines.
