Moy Park, as part of the Marfrig sponsorship, is proud to announce its involvement in the sponsorship of this year’s FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa.
The name of British chicken producer Moy Park will flash up around the pitch throughout the matches involving England, France and the Netherlands. The sponsorship is part of parent company Marfrig’s wider sponsorship of the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
“Moy Park is delighted to be involved in such a prestigious event as the FIFA World Cup,” says Moy Park CEO Nigel Dunlop. “Chicken is good for everyone and high on the list of foods that athletes eat because it’s one of the richest sources of energy-giving protein. It is also low in fat and cholesterol and contains many important vitamins and minerals that help bodies repair themselves – ideal after 90 mins on the pitch.”
Moy Park is a provider of fresh, high quality, locally farmed chicken and is recognised as one of the largest growers of organic, free-range and corn fed birds, says the company. It supplies own label and branded chicken products to leading retail and foodservice customers across Europe.
A sister brand from the Marfrig group – Seara – will be the main sponsor of all matches at the World Cup. The agreement, which takes effect immediately and lasts until the World Cup to be hosted by Brazil in 2014, was signed by the president of FIFA, Joseph S. Blatter, and the CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Marfrig Group, Marcos Antonio Molina dos Santos.
