Mexican poultry company to export to US
Mexican poultry producer and processor, Industrias Bachoco SAB, has plans to export chicken products to the US by 2009.
At present, Bachoco is building a processing facility in the Sonora State, Arizona. It is expected that the new plant would begin operations in the second quarter of 2008, and exports in 2009.
The plan, according to the company, is to market poultry products to Mexican immigrants in the US, who would be familiar with the company’s brand.
Initial operations at the new facility will have a production capacity of 300,000 birds per week, leading to a capacity of 1 million birds per week.
