The Mexican government on Wednesday banned the import of poultry products from the US state of Arkansas, due to an outbreak of bird flu in the area, an official statement said.

Mexico’s import from Arkansas include preparations based on eggs, meat, paste and entrails from poultry, the statement said.

The outbreak was reported on farms in Washington County, Arkansas, a Southern state on the lower Mississippi River.
