New American College of Poultry Veterinarians president elected

Aviagen veterinarian, Dr. Eric Jensen, has been elected president of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV). ACPV is the certifying board for veterinarians specialising in poultry medicine, health and management.

Jensen, a Diplomate of the ACPV since 1993 and a member of its board for the past two years, will serve as president of the organisation through July of 2012. During his term, Jensen will focus his efforts on ensuring that the ACPV continues to meet the requirements necessary to be recognised as an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) specialty, as well as provide quality continuing education programs for its members.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to continue the excellent work that has been done by the past president, Board of Governors and many active committee members,” said Jensen. “To meet the increasing demands on the poultry industry requires on-going effort to strengthen educational and scientific progress in the field of poultry veterinary medicine.”
