Novus supports IEC involvement with FAO-led partnership

Novus International, Inc. recently announced its support of the International Egg Commission’s (IEC) involvement with a new partnership that was launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in July 2012.

The purpose of the partnership is to improve and harmonize the way in which the environmental impacts of the livestock industry are measured.

“When the IEC approached the various livestock councils and organizations, we were more than willing to step up and participate in the life-cycle and environmental impact assessment of the industry in areas including greenhouse gas emissions (GHG),” stated Thad Simons, President and CEO, at Novus.

Support from Novus will be both financial and in-kind, as the company will lend its expertise and guidance.

“While there is a vast amount of data and information already available, having access to Novus’s expertise will help ensure the sustainability goals of the partnership are met,” said Dr. Vincent Guyonnet, IEC Scientific Advisor.
