OSI Group, one of the world’s largest privately held food processing companies, has joined the International Poultry Council as a new associate member.
For more than 60 years, OSI Group has been a global leader in supplying value-added protein and other food products to leading foodservice and retail brands. OSI has more than 60 facilities in 16 countries. Its global headquarters is located outside Chicago in Aurora, Ill.
Juergen Riss, supply chain director Europe, will be the company’s IPC representative. He is based in Guenzburg, Germany.
“With the addition of OSI, the IPC now has a total of 42 associate members from around the globe,” said IPC President Jim Sumner. “IPC’s membership continues to grow with the addition of processors and a wide range of global associates.”
Poultry associations in 22 countries are also members, and the IPC represents about 85 percent of the world’s poultry production and nearly 95 percent of global trade in poultry meat.
