Over 100 jobs could be lost at chicken processing plant

There is a fear that more than 100 jobs will be lost at a Banff chicken processing factory.

Grampian Country Food Group has announced that it had informed about 140 workers of the potential closure of the site following a review if it’s chicken business. The company also said that it would soon be consulting with the workforce and hoped to keep compulsory redundancies to a minimum.
“We are operating in a fiercely competitive marketplace,” said James Dallas, Scotish regional director, adding “we have to ensure that we remain in compatition.”
“Unfortunately due to some historic decisions we are unable to develop the Banff facility into a viable, efficient processing unit as we were unable to expand due to insufficient space at this location,” adding that the company deeply regrets the proposed closure.
