Over the years, Reed has been involved in a number of Industry Committees and is currently on the Assured Foods Standards Poultry Sector Board and Technical Committees, Chairman of the British Poultry Training and was a member of Defra’s Core Stakeholder Group for the implementation of the European Broiler Welfare Directive and a member of the Radcliffe Committee examining responsibility and cost sharing.
Reed said: “I’m honoured to have been re-elected Chairman of the British Poultry Council. I am proud to represent a successful and self-sufficient industry, which contributes daily to economic growth in the country.
“BPC members ensure that British consumers have easy access to healthy, safe and nutritious poultry meat, while ensuring high standards of animal health and welfare. I look forward to working together with BPC members and all stakeholders of the poultry meat chain to promote and protect the British poultry industry.”
