People: New appointments at Zinpro

Zinpro, trace minerals company, has recently made three new appointements.

Zinpro Corporation recently announced the addition of Dr. Andrea Brake to the Research and Nutritional Services team as research nutritionist – Regulatory. In this newly created position, her responsibilities include managing research projects and analyzing research data, as well as assisting in protocol, report development and writing. She is also responsible for coordinating and monitoring product registration projects.



Dr. Brake earned a doctoral degree from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in Murray, Ky. She brings more than 18 years of experience in the animal nutrition field in product development, scientific research and technical writing. Dr. Brake is based in the company’s headquarters located in Eden Prairie, Minn.



Eling Shen has joined as regional marketing specialist – China. In this newly created role, her responsibilities include providing marketing services to in-country sales teams and technical service teams in China. This includes developing and implementing marketing initiatives and analyzing marketing data and metrics. In addition, she will oversee in-country vendors to support local marketing activities.



Shen earned a master’s degree in human nutrition and rural development from Ghent University in Belgium. She earned a bachelor’s degree in food science and engineering from Tianjin University of Science and Technology in China. Shen previously held a marketing position with a large Chinese feed company. She is based at the company’s regional office in Shanghai, China.



Melanie Beckman has joined the Research and Nutritional Services (RNS) team as research assistant. In this newly created position, she will assist the RNS team in protocol and report writing, coordinating and managing product support research files, and conducting literature reviews.  



Beckman earned a master’s degree in animal science from New Mexico State University, where she also worked as a research assistant for several years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in equine science from the University of Minnesota, Crookston. Beckman is based in the company’s headquarters located in Eden Prairie, Minn.
