US processor Pilgrim’s Pride said it will be eliminating approx. 355 positions across the company.

The elimination of the salaried and salaried non-exempt positions across the company’s organisation are reportedly the result of the company’s plan to reduce costs and operate more efficiently.

It is further reported that the positions being cut will be divided among most of Pilgrim Pride’s 3 dozen locations.

“Our company and our industry are facing the toughest operating environment in decades, and it is absolutely critical for Pilgrim’s Pride to continue to do everything we can to operate out business as efficiently as possible,” said the company.
