Poland to supply Russia with poultry

11-03-2009 | |

The Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) reports that Poland may begin supplying hatching eggs, day-old chicks, ducklings, turkey chicks and goslings to Russian.

Reports state that the parties agreed that the Polish Veterinary Service should provide a list of Polish poultry breeding farms and Russian importers interested in the supply of their products, for examination of Rosselkhoznadzor officials.

The parties also agreed to hold the working group next meeting on veterinary issue in Moscow at the end of May 2009.

Russia, however, has some concerns in a view of detection of violations in product supply from Poland, reports Meat Russia. In some cases, for example, products were shipped from enterprises not licensed by Russian party. The Polish party is entitled to hold the corresponding inspections and take measures for preventing such cases in future.
