Report: Poultry feed acidifiers – global trends

02-12-2009 | |

Global potential for animal feed acidifiers and other health products for animals are on rise due to higher demand for top quality poultry, pork and beef, according to a new report from Companies&Markets.

Stable demand from developed countries for meat as well as meat products coupled with escalating consumption in the developing world, improving living standards, and a swelling population is expected to propel the worldwide demand for animal feed additives.

Further, ban on animal feed antibiotics has thrown the spotlight on acidifiers as one of the next most feasible and functional alternative. Sales of feed acidifiers are expected to increase, particularly in Europe due to ban.

Application of feed acidifiers in other species of livestock such as poultry and cattle is currently in the experimental stage and is likely to emerge into an indispensable feed ingredient for all classes of animal species, given the market’s shift from pharmaceutical products to natural feed and hygiene management.

Market for feed acidifiers is slated to expand gradually as suppliers and customers gain experience and comprehend the value of this currently not so familiar alternative.

The future is also expected to witness high sales of acidifiers that are protected through coatings or encapsulation than normal feed acidifiers.

The full market report can be purchased from Companies&Markets.
