Request for poultry workers to take online food defense survey

A survey is now being conducted in the US on food defense preparedness among meat and poultry plants.

This survey is beoing conducted by the Kansas State University in cooperation with the North American Meat Processors Association, the American Association of Meat Processors and the American Meat Institute.

The aim of this survey is to get a better understanding of processor needs in setting up and operating food security programmes and to develop effective training materials and other tools based on survey responses.

K-State is requesting that employees of large, medium and small meat and poultry processing plants who are involved with or responsible for food defense preparedness activities to participate.

All responses are confidential and information from individual facilities will not be examined. The survey will be available until 29 February, 2008.
