Russia overturns Sanderson poultry ban

07-09-2009 | |

The Russian Federation has overturned a ban placed on imports of poultry from a Sanderson Farms poultry plant, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The plant based in Laurel, Miss, was one of three US meat plants that Russia delisted in July after Moscow claimed to have discovered an excess of antibiotics in product. Products produced at the plant prior to July 8 and on or after Sept. 2 are now eligible for export to Russia.
