S. Africa: Famous Brands explores chicken sector

Fast-food chain in South Africa, Famous Brands, has plans to target the emerging market by expanding into chicken and offering cheaper products.

According to CEO Kevin Hedderwick, chicken accounted for 40% of sales in the industry and could not be ignored.
Hedderwick said that the group was more likely to acquire a chicken franchise than to start one up because of the high barriers to entry.
