The economics of Mycoplasma synoviae (2003 Special)

Mycoplasma spp infections can cause a sub-clinical upper respiratory tract infection and air sacculitis even in day-old chicks. In certain countries, breeder flocks are largely perceived to be free of M. gallisepticum (Mg) and M. synoviae (Ms) infections. Unfortunately, biosecurity infringements occur and breeders frequently become infected.
