US: Poultry plants honoured for safety

During the recently held American Meat Institute Foundation annual Conference on Worker Safety, Health, Human Resources and the Environment, in Denver, US, over 140 meat and poultry plants were recognised for outstanding workplace safety.

It has been stated that this programme’s success is evidence to the industry’s strong commitment to workplace safety, said J. Patrick Boyle, A.M.I. president and CEO. “We applaud the efforts of these plants to protect their workers and for their continued commitment to further progress,” he added.

According to reports,the Award of Honour was given to 42 plants, 47 received the Award of Merit, 30 plants received the Award of Commendation and 22 received a Certificate of Recognition.
