USPOULTRY releases storm water pollution prevention video

16-09-2008 | |

The US Poultry & Egg Association has released a new training video with the aim of helping poultry environmental managers keep up-to-date on the Clean Water Act requirements.

The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System has a permit program in place that controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants in US waterways. Regulations require that poultry facilities prepare and implement storm water pollution prevention programmes to ensure that storm runoff does not pollute nearby water systems.
The new training video focuses on implementing effective storm water programmes at poultry facilities, and reviews potential pollution sources, permits, pollution prevention plans and inspections.
