Vietnam’s municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has revealed that the country’s capital city will soon have the country’s largest poultry market.
The Ha Vi Wholesale Poultry Market, covering 2 ha in Ha Vi Hamlet, Thang Loi Commune, would cost around VND20 bln (US$1.17 mln), and construction would be finished toward the end of 2009.
It is reported that the market would have the capacity to accommodate and transport 20,000 live fowls daily, and that 7-10,000 birds will be transported to the market from other localities each day.
It is planned that three quarters of what is produced at the poultry market will be delivered to retail markets in Ha Noi.
The market will house a modern processing facility, trading area, cold storage and parking for delivery vans.
