The tenth edition of the international agricultural show VIV Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, has broken various records. The number of new exhibitors is perhaps the most staggering: 277 – a 20% increase when compared to the previous show in 2009.
The biannual show for the animal protein business from feed to meat counts 16,200 m2 net extra floor space in comparison with its previous edition in March 2009. This is an increase of 30%.
In total, 708 companies from 48 countries are exhibiting their products, knowledge and expertise at the event.
Topping the list is China with 129 exhibitors, and second comes Thailand with 71 exhibitors. After that, come the Netherlands (64), USA (58), Germany (55) and South Korea (31).
In addition, nine official country pavilions can be found across the show – including France, Belgium, South Korea, China, the Netherlands, USA and Spain.
In the pre-registration, already 20,000 visitors from 120 countries had indicated to pay a visit to VIV Asia 2011 – and judging by the busy atmosphere of the first day, visitor numbers will be positive. At VIV Asia 2009, total visitor numbers after the show turned out to be almost 21,000 – hence the show organisers of VNU International said they are expecting a lot of this show.
VIV Asia is co-located with several side-events, like Aquatic Asia, Bioenergy Asia 2011, Feedtech-Croptech and ChinaVisions.
