VIV China 2006 doubles international visitors

The international show on livestock industry VIV China, held September 27-29 in Beijing, was visited by just over 20,000 visitors, double the amount of the 2004 show.

In total, 426 companies exhibited at the show (66 more than two years ago), of which 141 were international. In 2004, 116 companies were international. In addition, Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA and South Korea held presentations in national pavilions.
The share of international visitors grew from 11 to 23%, and visitors came from 70 countries. Delegations were welcomed from Korea, Japan, Russia, Thailand and Iran. Approximately 34% of the visitors was active in the poultry sector.
The next VIV China is scheduled for the Olympic year 2008 in Beijing. A unique situation, as the show will be the first event to be organised after the Olympic games, September 26-28 2008.
