Work on the new Meyn Food Processing Technology building in the Netherlands started on 2 December 2010 during a festive ceremony in which the first pile was sunk into the ground.
As a result of the continuing growth being experienced by the company, it has been decided that its current premises, which consist of six different buildings in Oostzaan and Zaandam, are no longer adequate for coping with further growth into the future. It is for that reason that a new business complex is being built, requiring an investment of more than €30 million. The location of the new building is on a plot of land larger than 33,000 m2. The complex will comprise three buildings; an industrial unit, a five-story head office and an office building for the Business Unit International.
The new production area will be ready in December next year, after which the office buildings will be opened in the first six months of 2012.
Han van der Broek, CEO of Meyn: “We are very enthusiastic about the possibilities that are offered to us in realising this new facility in a fantastic new building. This will also allow us to make additional improvements in our logistical processes. We are looking forward to moving into the first part of the new buildings end of next year.”
