Following the successful launch of the Ross App in the UK in December 2012 and strong demand from customers in other regions, Aviagen has announced the arrival of a European version.
Compatible with phones and tablets running Android or Apple operating systems and with a PC and Mac version also available, the App covers the Ross European Performance Objectives for the Ross 308, Ross 708 and Ross PM3 at both breeder and broiler level.
With the UK App seeing nearly 300 downloads to-date in the UK, reflecting a nearly 100% uptake from the UK customer base, feedback has been very positive.
“Although the App doesn’t offer specific advice on flock management, it is a handy, sustainable tool for poultry producers to instantly see if their birds are in line with performance expectations,” said Alan Thomson, Regional Commercial and Technical Manager – Europe. “The App also has a built-in European Performance Efficiency Factor (EPEF) calculator and a number of other useful tools including a unit convertor which incorporates industry-specific calculations.
“These features are especially useful for managers who need to travel or visit multiple sites because they always have the performance objectives and other reference tools in their pocket.
“However, we don’t stop here. We are already looking at additional features and will be listening to customers about functionality and any ideas they have to enhance the App to assist them in the running of their day-to-day business.“
Plans are already underway to produce an Aviagen App for a global audience and add multi-lingual capabilities.
The IOS version will be available to download from the Apple app store, or the Android version can be obtained through Google Play.
