Representatives from Baiada Poultry of Australia recently visited and reviewed flock management practices being carried out by Aviagen in the UK.
The guests got a chance to tour several Aviagen grandparent facilities and also a number of Vion breeder farms at various stages of production during their week-long visit.
“It is always beneficial to provide customers with the opportunity to see operations in other countries” commented Alan Thomson, Aviagen Regional Commercial and Technical Manager. “Reviewing and comparing production management programs typically surfaces some new ideas or alternative thinking that can often help both parties in their quest for performance improvement.”
Mike Govers, Baiada livestock manager indicated that the visit was an excellent way to periodically review current practices and believed that he had uncovered a couple of interesting ideas that were worthy of follow up on returning back to Australia.
Baiada Poultry is a major integrator with production and processing facilities in five states and two leading consumer brands in the Australian market.
