Belgium to put poultry inside
Revised regulations in Belgium demand that poultry in high risk areas have to be kept indoors.
As a new bird flu prevention measure, effective as of today, birds in those areas need to be kept indoors or fenced off with nets at all times. The new measures apply to both poultry farmers and households but only in high risk areas that abound in water.
Poultry outside of the restricted areas can walk freely. Inside these low-risk areas only the feeding of the animals needs to be fenced off.
Competitions involving poultry are still permitted, but no animals should be sold.
