Canada is interested in supplies of beef, poultry, sheep and goats as well as genetic material to Ukraine, the State veterinary and phytosanitary service said.

According to the report, Canada has initiated a meeting between chairman of the State veterinary service Ivan Bisiuk and deputy head of the commercial department of the Canadian embassy to Ukraine Heorhii Hruschenko.

The meeting eyed the question of coordination of draft veterinary certificates for export of beef and poultry as well as for export of sheep and goats from Canada to Ukraine.

Ukrainian News reported that President Viktor Yanukovych urged the Cabinet of Ministers to take additional measures on signing agreements on free trade areas with Commonwealth of Independent States and Canada.
