Cherkizovo Group, one of Russia’s leading integrated and diversified meat producers, has successfully launched the first line of the breeding facility Pervomaiskaya in the Bryansk region.
The new line is part of the poultry capacity increase project first announced in 2010. The first line of the poultry breeding facility consists of 28 bird houses, with a combined capacity of almost 1 million broilers. The bird houses contain state-of-the-art equipment manufactured by the Belgian company Roxell.
A second line consisting of another 28 bird houses is expected to be launched in August 2012. Once completed, the annual production capacity will equal 2 million broilers or 26,000 tonnes of live-weight poultry. The total investment made constructing the first and second lines at the facility is approximately US $30 million (880 mln roubles).
The Bryansk capacity increase project, has also led to the construction of 11 additional bird houses at the existing poultry breeding facilities, 2 lines of Rosha breeding facility for 52 bird houses and an incubation facility with an annual capacity of 43 million eggs (the 2nd line is underway).
In 2011 the production capacity of the Bryansk poultry cluster was in excess of 55,000 tonnes of live weight poultry. As a result of the newly constructed production sites, capacity will increase to 71,000 tonnes of live weight poultry in 2012.
