Cherkizovo Group has finished implementing the new FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System at all facilities of its poultry division.

Several teams analysed all stages of the operating process at each poultry production facility, from receiving live poultry to storing packaged products in the warehouse.

Preparations for the certification audit lasted for two years and included several stages. At the first stage, Cherkizovo employees visited all poultry factories in person in order to carry out an integrated audit and assess the scale of the expected changes.

During the second stage, specialists from Cherkizovo Group’s quality assessment department prepared documents setting out the company’s food safety policy and objectives, along with corporate regulations and programs of preliminary measures required by the standard. Teams of specialists from various business units were formed at all factories and the holding company to implement the food safety management system.

“Implementing the new FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System was an important step for Cherkizovo Group toward strengthening relations with major international retail chains and creating an efficient management system. It allows the production of high-quality products without risks to consumer health. The Technical Regulations of the Customs Union “On Food Safety” also require the availability of a food safety system at each food industry facility in each Customs Union member state,” the company states.
