Colombian chicken will enter the Asian continent as part of the agreements established in the Free Trade between the two nations.
The president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, announced that Japan has approved the admission of chicken meat in to the country.
The Japanese government has assessed several aspects of poultry production in Colombia including health, hygiene, veterinary inspection and surveillance of Colombian poultry production practicesand as a result has given approval for imports.
This achievement gives Colombian producers the opportunity to start the search for business in the Asian market, even before the FTA with Japan is signed.
