AVEC, the Association of Poultry Processors and Poultry Trade in the EU countries, is to hold their General Assembly again shortly. This time, France is the hosting country.
The venue of the 57th edition of the assembly, will be in Marseille, a harbour city along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The meeting will be held from October 2-5.
AVEC represents the European Poultry Industry. Their members include national organisations representing poultry industry and poultry trade in 16 EU Member States. More than 220 participants from 16 European countries are expected to join the 57th edition in Marseille.
The objectives of AVEC are to promote the interests of the European poultry meat sector through a dynamic and strong approach towards the future challenges of the poultry industry. Their aim is to represent a strong and united European poultry sector by co-operating and keeping close contact to their member organisations.
AVEC also aims to maintain and develop strong relations with the European Community and with other both European and international organisations and partners. Finally they aim to create a level playing field with common international rules and standards.
In this context, AVEC as a whole, is a member of the International Poultry Council (IPC).
