Russian meat producer, Eurodon, is eyeing a 130,000 tonne capacity increase in its turkey meat production by the end of 2016.
According to plans released by the company it intends to expand the current production capacity of operating facilities from 43,000 to 73,000 tonnes of turkey meat per year. In addition the company will construct a new complex with the capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year in the Ust-Donetsk district of Rostov Oblast.
As a result, the production capacity of Eurodon should grow by 67% compared to the current volume. In total Eudoron plans to construct 214 new poultry houses. In addition to these houses, the new complex will include a hatching house, meat processing plant and feed mill.
“The facilities of the new complex are being commissioned gradually. The production units for the growing of turkeys and the feed mill are at various stages of readiness,” a company spokesperson said.
The implementation of this project will however, enable the company to strengthen its position as the largest producer of turkey meat in the post Soviet Union region.
