Eurodon to build Russia’s largest turkey production complex

Agro-industrial holding Eurodon is to begin construction of a major complex for turkey production worth about 18 billion rubles (US$ 562 mln), the First Deputy Prime Minister of the region Yuriy Beli reported.

The new complex, in the Stavropol region, will become the largest enterprise specialising in the  manufacture of turkey meat in Russia – said representatives of the project.

The total design capacity will be about 180 tonnes of turkey meat per year. The new complex will consist of several poultry farms and processing plants. It is reported that a significant part of production will be meant for export.

Completion of the first stage of the complex is planned in November 2012, and the whole complex – in 2014. CEO of Eurodon Vadim Vaneyev indicated last year that this and several other projects would most likely be implemented with the active support of the federal government.

Currently Eurodon is producing a third of the total turkey meat in Russia and about 60% of poultry production in the Rostov region. The new complex, as well as a number of other projects implemented by the company promises to make Eurodon a market leader in the country in the coming years.
