In 2008, a new high-tech chicken hatchery was constructed in Watertown, New York, US. Hatchery officials say the $5 mln building is now running at full capacity.
Each week, 300,000 chicks can be produced at the hatchery. It has been reported that hatchery officials believe Watertown would be a good place for the facility due to its proximity to Canada.
The company helps Canada fulfil a North American Free Trade Agreement that requires it to get a certain percentage of its poultry from the U.S. but since moving, officials say Watertown has really become home.
