British company Honeybrook is set to launch a poultry processing plant in the Kiev Oblast with the main focus of establishing export supplies to the Middle East countries, according to a report on the website of the Kiev City State Administration.

Honeybrook’s director of international market, Thomas Heyvmann-March, stated that the company’s specialists calculated that the poultry farms in Kiev Oblast today produce about 20 million chickens per year. The capacity of the plant and projected investments so far has not been announced.

Honeybrook has a specialised clients base in Great Britain, Spain and Germany with its own warehouse and distribution network. Today the company sells about 50 million chickens per year.

The production of the meat-processing plant in the Kyiv Oblast will mainly be made available for export, primarily to Persian Gulf countries: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE but also the European Union.

It is noted that Honeybrook already worked on the developing of the detailed business plan for the investment project. According to the representatives of the Kiev City State Administration such projects will benefit the development of the poultry industry in Ukraine, which in the coming years expects to see a rise in the level of production and export supplies.
