Huge poultry processing plant built in Tatarstan

Construction of one of the largest Russian industrial complexes for the processing of poultry has begun in the Republic of Tatarstan. The capacity of the plant will be nearly 50,000 tonnes of poultry meat per year

This amount will not only make the region fully self-sufficient in poultry, but will also allow it to export large quantities to neighbouring regions.

“The investment in the project will amount to more than RUB 2 billion (US$ 36.6 million), while the payback period is five years,” stated a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan.

“Last year in Tatarstan 119,000 tonnes of poultry meat was produced, which means the republic’s demands for poultry were covered by 103.4%.” So, already more poultry is being produced than the region needs. With the new processing plant, Tatarstan can produce even more and enter other Russian regions and foreign markets.
