Kazakhstan is actively increasing its egg production output, with a view to launching export supplies, according to a report of the local statistic services.
During the first five months of the year egg production grew by 6% over the same period of 2013, or by 100 million pieces. In May, egg production reached 374 million units, which is about 5% higher the level of May 2013. In the first five months the country produced 604.1 million eggs, 6% higher on year-to-year comparison.
At the same time as of June 1, the total number of poultry stock in Kazakhstan amounted to 35.1 million heads, down 1.6 million compared to the same date of last year.
For instance, in 2013 egg production in Kazakhstan reached 3 567.2 million pieces, which was 5.6% higher than in 2012. Experts, of the Ministry of Agriculture of the country estimated that this amount is enough to completely meet the internal demands of the country’s population in egg production, so the further growth of industry should be accompanied with the launching of active export supplies.
The Ministry of Agriculture forecasts that for the current year Kazakhstan has the potential to increase production to 3.9 million units, up 10% compared to the level of 2013.
