The volume of egg production in Kazakhstan has grown steadily in the first five months of the year, the Federal Static Services of the country has reported.
From January-May of this year, egg production totalled 1,512.9 million units, which is almost 6% higher than the same period of 2012.
According to the report, the highest level of growth in egg production was registered in the farms of the Almaty region, where almost 20% of all eggs in the country were produced (about 333.4 million units).
This year, the average monthly figures are exceeding last year’s level by 10-15 million units. For example, in May alone, the country produced 348 million eggs compared to 336 million in May of 2012.
In addition, the report mentioned the significant increase in the number of poultry stock. As of June 1, the number of poultry in Kazakhstan was close to 36,796,000 heads, an increase of 183,000 heads compared to last year.
